MRC Technology, the drug commercialization division of the world-renowned Medical Research Council was to become an independently funded charity and needed a new brand to reflect its growing ambition and independent status as well as its pioneering work turning great science into even greater patient impact.

Our rebrand was designed around a pivot in the charity's role. We developed a patient centered purpose - turning great science into greater patient impact - and a new name - LifeArc - that signifies their role in bridging the gap between science and the patient and bringing together academics, big pharma, bio-science startups and charities who all have vital roles to play bringing science to the patient.

This was encapsulated in a simple, yet bold and impactful visual identity that puts the patient at the heart of the LifeArc brand experience.

Planned investment in UK Life science

To move from a brand aligned for over 25 years with as well-known a heritage as the UK's Medical Research Council, to one that has independence and kudos, had to be managed carefully. Brandpie helped us get multiple stakeholders on board with the new invigorated purpose, name and identity - resulting in a highly impactful launch of the new brand.
