Meet the team…

  • Dave Allen

    Dave founded BrandPie in 2008. He has advised clients, governments and charities on branding issues worldwide. He takes a hands-on approach to all BrandPie projects. He believes purpose-driven companies have the ability to bring about real change in society, making them more attractive to consumers and employees. Dave is a disruptor by nature, encouraging people to adapt their thinking and approach, always challenging the status quo. He allegedly makes a fantastic gazpacho.

  • Rosanna Beart

    Rosanna is a junior consultant and recent graduate from the University of Bristol. She has a BA in English Literature.

  • Richard Burton

    Richard is BrandPie’s Head of People Engagement and is looking forward to working with clients to deliver creative ideas that connect employees, partners and customers with the organisation’s purpose. Richard has held a variety of senior brand, communications and marketing roles across a diverse range of industry sectors, working with such large multinational organisations as EY, IBM and Alcatel. Before joining the BrandPie team, Richard was Global Head of R&D Communications at AstraZeneca where he led the development of brand engagement programmes designed to strengthen AZ’s reputation as a scientific leader. He enjoys playing a variety of sports, photography and has just started to try and learn the piano – albeit with limited success so far.

  • Sally Bye

    Sally is a Partner at BrandPie with over 25 years experience in marketing and building sustainable brands. Most of her career has been spent as a ‘client’ of agencies such as BrandPie, working for Tesco and BP, which gives her a unique perspective into what clients are looking for and what drives success. Sally is passionate about the role people can play to create competitive advantage for companies and how their level of engagement can make all the difference. Often surprising to those who meet her, weekends are spent cattle and sheep farming.

  • Natasha Chance

    Natasha is the Creative Director at BrandPie but most importantly a proud Kiwi. She has lived and worked in four continents - US, Europe, Asia and Australia - and is truly a multi-disciplinary creative, having worked in publishing, marketing, architecture, and branding. Natasha led the brand identity work for Intel while working in New York, and since joining BrandPie she has brought a bundle of energy to the creative team and led the new brand identity project for EY. Natasha collects lightning bolt earrings and likes to wear them mismatched… because she can.

    Natasha is currently on maternity leave.

  • Rishi Dastidar

    Rishi has over 17 years of experience as a journalist, copywriter and brand strategist, and has worked with a variety of brands to develop their positioning, messaging, tones of voice, advertising, direct and digital communications, customer journeys, user experiences and social media strategies, across a range of platforms and channels including mobile.

    Clients have included PayPal, Barclays, Santander, O2, EDF Energy and Spotify.

    He also serves as chair of the board of trustees of the London-based writer development agency Spread The Word, and is a poet: his debut collection ‘Ticker-tape’ is published by Nine Arches Press.

  • Pablo Funcia

    Pablo is a senior graphic designer with 5 years of experience developing multiple creative solutions across a variety of sectors and regions including Europe, North America and Asia. His work ranges from identity creation through to brand expression across print, digital, motion and physical spaces. Pablo strongly believes that outstanding work is the result of solid strategy, challenging creative ideas and immaculate execution. He produces meaningful design solutions, always grounded on strong ideas and driven by visual clarity and timeless simplicity.

    Pablo has created and developed visual identities for AstraZeneca, Carenet, EY, Kingfisher, Octopus, and Royal Bank of Canada; and developed brand experiences for American Express, Arsenal FC, Fortnum & Mason, Liverpool FC, Manchester City FC, Mothercare, Nissan, TUI Thomson and Wembley Stadium.

  • Santiago Gomez

    Santiago is a digital experience designer and art director. Apart from a strong background working for traditional advertising clients, he is constantly exploring new technology to help enhance his work and drive his creativity. He keeps his hand on the pulse of UX design trends and consistently creates unique and innovative experiences. Santiago is always in pursuit of something new in order to grow his ever-expanding list of skills from coding to creating. He is an integral member of the team and drives everyone around him to question what’s possible and push beyond the boundaries every day.

  • Sarah Hamill

    Sarah is a BrandPie Consultant. She has assisted global clients with the strategy surrounding their purpose, brand, and identity. Her experiences crosses numerous industries, from financial institutions to coworking spaces, and clients of all sizes, from regional companies to global brands.

    She has worked with clients like Macy’s, Aldo and Timberland to help them define and create next generation shopping experiences, offering inspiring solutions to today’s customers.

  • Rik Haslam

    Rik has over 20 years digital and CRM experience working on digital transformation projects for the world's leading brands. He was an early pioneer of social media winning awards for his work with Eurostar, HP, IBM, Virgin Media and many others. He has worked with most major CMS platforms and has led the development of bespoke omni-channel systems.

    During his time as Chief Creative Officer at RAPP and working at Ogilvy, Rik has become a marketing automation expert creating breakthrough programs for a wide range of businesses including Barclays, Mercedes, Skype and Time Warner Cable.

  • Chris Holmes

    Chris is a Brand Consultant with a degree in communications and sociology from the University of Birmingham. Prior to joining BrandPie his clients included Lloyds Banking Group, Linklaters and Network Rail, focusing on talent management. He’s interested in the way digital technology is continually changing the way brands tell their stories. He’s a sports fanatic and the world’s worst golfer.

  • Matt Hauke

    Matt is a multi-disciplinary senior designer with a strong foundation in typography. He has all-round experience working on annual reports, branding, web design, environmental graphics, packaging and identity design. Previously he has worked with clients such as Tesco, Marie Stopes International and many new start-up businesses.

    At BrandPie he has gained experience working with larger clients in the B2B sector offering him greater responsibility that comes with running more demanding projects. Recent clients include EY, Royal Bank of Canada, AstraZeneca and Concern Universal.

  • Dustin Lawrence

    As a Brand Strategist, Dustin has been transforming business strategy into strategic brand stories that unite people inside and out for over 10 years. Working across categories and countries has given him a breadth of experience to understand the importance for brands to balance scale with local relevance.

    He has worked in leading independent and global corporate brand agencies in Johannesburg, Sydney and London. Working with global brands the like of BP Upstream, Siemens, Fidelity International, LaSalle Investment Management and Bayer.

    He also has experience in communications planning working with the likes of Philips Healthcare and IBM.

  • Sophie Lutman

    Sophie is BrandPie's Creative Director, and has over 20 years experience in leading London agencies. She has conducted work on behalf of senior communications personnel across both consumer facing, B2B and media brands. She specialises in brand creation and coherence across all touchpoints from corporate to moving image.  She appreciates the importance of clear communication, collaboration and original creative thinking.

    Previous clients include ITV, GSK, Night Nurse, Telefonica, The Olympic Broadcast Service, BBC, O2, Telefonica, Vodafone, Hotels.com, Deloitte, Sainsburys and Renault. She has judged for D&AD, The Roses Awards, Dubai Lynx and Cannes Lions.

    Sophie loves sci-fi, hates musicals and backpacks - not that these are mutually inclusive!

  • Michael Mackay

    Michael graduated from The School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Advertising and Graphic Design. He has over six years experience in the traditional advertising agency environment as an award winning Art Director. His expertise and interdisciplinary focus has been on digital executions for brands in the technology and health sectors. Before joining the creative team at BrandPie, he was the Creative Director on the Global SAP account for lead-generation. There he oversaw creative in all regions from Singapore to Brazil, and launched over 22 unique campaigns across multiple lines of business within a single year.

    He was born in Scotland, grew up in England, and lived in Switzerland before eventually moving to New York City. He has an American, outgoing disposition, a British sense of humor and maintains a Swiss appreciation for aesthetics and good design.

  • Terry Moore

    Terry is a Partner at BrandPie with over 30 years experience working with international clients. He came to brand consultancy from a creative background, which enables him to balance strategy with creative execution and to guide the creative teams in the context of the big strategic picture. Terry’s a specialist in brand architecture, and its articulation through design. He strives for simplicity; “A brilliant idea, consistently, simply and rigorously executed is always the goal”.

  • Kim Nguyen

    Kim is Head of PR & Marketing at BrandPie. She is a digital and direct marketing communications professional with over 12 years strategic, operational and project management experience gained in director and management roles across private, government and not-for-profit sectors in Australia and the UK.

    She has successfully delivered projects and integrated campaigns for Google UK, Microsoft UK, LinkedIn, Public Health England, Investors in People, Technology Trust, and the National Childcare Accreditation Council.

    Kim spends most of her time trying to finish the internet.

  • Roger Partington

    Roger is a Founding Partner of BrandPie. With over 35 years of experience in marketing and business management, he has enjoyed a distinguished career as Marketing Director at Nestle Rowntree, Group Marketing Director at Safeway and Executive Vice President at Texas Utilities. Recently he has become a non-Executive Director for a number of quoted and unquoted businesses. He likes mucking about in boats and is a member of the Royal London Yacht Club.

  • Federica Pisano

    Federica is a Consultant at BrandPie. Her previous experience includes Landor Associates, where she was in charge of research and analytics, verbal branding and naming within several brand strategy projects. She has worked for global clients such as Adecco Staffing and Group, Bayer, Etihad Airways and VimpelCom. Her passions are brand engagement and CSR, with particular focus on online interactions.

    Federica has also worked in investor relations at FTI Consulting Strategic Communications in Frankfurt, serving proudly German middle enterprises – such as Symrise and Tom Tailor – as well as the giant digital publishing house Axel Springer. Through her background as an interpreter and translator, she can communicate fluently in English, German and French whilst being an Italian native speaker. She is currently learning Mandarin and is passionate about the Chinese culture and societal trends.

  • Adam Poole

    Adam is Head of Client Experience at BrandPie. Originally hailing from Australia, he’s spent the last 13 years of his career in London agencies working on branding programmes across clients like the BBC, GSK, FIFA, O2, Virgin Media, and Al Jazeera. He’s interested in seeing how brands continue to develop their own content and bypass traditional media. When he’s not at work this unlikely Aussie tries to eat like a caveman, meditate like a monk, and stretch like a yogi.

  • Nick Ranger

    Nick is Head of Strategy at BrandPie and brings more than 20 years experience in brand strategy and communications. He has worked on global branding assignments for major corporates in Europe, the US, Japan and Middle East, including developing brand vision and purpose for a global consumer electronics brand, brand strategy for a European pharmaceuticals company and repositioning a global food services business. Most recently he has been working on the development of a new banking brand for the UK High Street. Nick believes the role of brand strategy is becoming increasingly significant as corporate purpose and sustainability become evermore entwined. The need for clarity, creativity and authenticity has never been greater. When he’s not at work, Nick can usually be found in the kitchen rustling something up. So Pie is never far from his thoughts.

  • MaryLee Sachs

    MaryLee has over 25 years in marketing communications in the international arena. Her work has included developing multi-national communications strategies, managing change management programs, and advising on the integration of social media. She is co-founder and US CEO for BrandPie, as well as program director for The Conference Board’s Council for CMOs. She also is author of ‘The Changing MO of the CMO - How the Convergence of Brand and Reputation is Affecting Marketers’, and more recently ‘What The New Breed Of CMO’s Know That You Don’t’.

  • Andrew Sacks-Hoppenfeld

    Andrew joined BrandPie in 2016 after overseeing sales, marketing, and branding for a startup in the sharing economy space. Prior to that, he managed global brands’ strategic media planning and buying across digital, television, and social advertising campaigns.

    His experience spans across the travel, spirits, health & wellness, and pharmaceutical industries working with clients such as Diageo, Disney Parks, and Pfizer to engage their customers through strategic multi-platform media campaigns.

    Andrew is fascinated by the evolution of the ways consumers interact with media and is committed to helping brands succeed in this ever-changing environment.

    He is also fascinated by his dog Watson.

  • Scott Snashfold

    Scott is BrandPie's Design Director, with experience working within a wide range of disciplines across a number of industries and regions including Europe, North America, and the Middle East. His work ranges from the creation of visual identity through to brand expression within print, online and motion.

    Delivering creative but intelligent and considered work is extremely important to Scott. He prides himself on designing to a high level of precision, and ensures he produces strategic solutions to each client’s needs.

    He has created visual identities for TAQA, the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, Freshfields, Chivas Brothers, Young Enterprise, Octopus Investments and AstraZeneca.

    Sally has a wealth of experience in client service, having worked for several of the largest branding agencies on big global brand programmes such as Vodafone and Anglo American. As Head of Client Services, she is responsible for driving service standards through our business. Her aim is to get brands delivering consistent experiences for both customers and employees. She’s also a qualified aromatherapist, but this is additional to the scope of any project!

  • Peter Widdup

    Peter is a Non-Executive Director of BrandPie, with over 30 years agency experience. As well as building BrandPie’s creative team, he has led the delivery of creative solutions for many of our key clients. He’s a fantastic mentor for the younger members of the team, and has created an open and collaborative culture within the design studio. He is currently Managing Director at Watershed, a wholly owned subsidiary of BrandPie. Pete is an external examiner at the University of Hertfordshire and is also a keen sailor.
